Jerky

You could say the love of Jerky is in my blood. Coming from pioneer stock, my great great great Aunt Sarah Latimer along with her daughter Mary Ann where married to Arthur and John Denny of the Denny Party that founded the city of Seattle. With the wagons packed with jerky the Latimer’s and Denny’s traveled west from Illinois, spending many a hot day eating Jerky while their Conestoga Wagon rocked along the Oregon Trail. You could say eating jerky remains a tradition in my family. You don’t trek 1,500 miles along a dusty trail and not pass on the love of jerky in your DNA. But after 150 years chewing, the same old flavors you get bored with the same old bland offerings. That’s why I decided to start Deadwood Bold Jerky. It is a small batch, handcrafted and seasoned to bold perfection the way Aunt Sarah would have like it. Why do I call it Deadwood? The old western town was bold, mean and spicy. Not to mention dangerous. That’s what we call our Deadwood fire. Did I mention Deadwood is where Wild Bill Hickock met his end holding Aces and eights, eating jerky? Establish your family tradition, travel everywhere with a bag of Deadwood Bold.
